Brands to Love: Broste Copenhagen

A new series of posts: Brands to Love! In which I want to talk about the interior design and home decor brands I like most, sharing their pictures, mood, catalogue, news and everything may concern them.

Considering my love for nordic design I have decided to start with a danish brand: Broste Copenhagen.

Christmas is in a little more than one month, and I always love to take inspirations from the brands I like.

I recently have  been attracted by their new Christmas collection, simple yet striking, shared in their official Facebook page.

Kitchen inspiration

Kitchen and bathroom are said to be the most important rooms in a house, I couldn’t agree more, even if I don’t like cooking at all.

Our kitchen is rather small with average height ceiling, but it’s separate from living-room which is something I like. Its main problem was being stuck in the 60’s, full of cabinets and not functional at all.

I had clearly in mind what I wanted to do with it and I have to say the final result is exactly as I had imagined.

Here’s a before picture.

Inspiration

We didn’t hire any architect, just a surveyor, a friend of ours, who supervised all the technical works. His advices were precious indeed, especially because for me it was the first time dealing with workers and such a huge amount of work to do.
The first thing I did was find sources of inspiration. I knew what I liked: Japanese esthetic and Scandi style, I wanted to mix these two elements together without giving up the old Italian “heart” of our house.
So I started researching on the net, following bloggers, pinterest boards, saving tons of inspiration pictures, but I already had some clear ideas in my mind.
